F1 ACADEMY: Doriane Pin claims 2025 championship, Chloe Chambers triumphs in Race 2 at Las Vegas
Doriane Pin has been crowned the 2025 F1 ACADEMY champion after a thrilling season finale in Las Vegas. With a fifth-place finish, Pin secured her title, despite Chloe Chambers' dominant victory in Race 2. Chambers, racing on home soil, showcased her skill by leading every lap and converting her pole position into a decisive win, marking the end of her two-year F1 ACADEMY journey in style.
While Pin, backed by Mercedes, didn't secure a podium finish, her fifth position was enough to outscore her rival, Maya Weug, in the standings, ultimately earning her the championship title at the vibrant street circuit.
The race began cleanly, with the top five positions holding firm through the initial laps, despite numerous overtaking maneuvers. However, the race took a dramatic turn when Joanne Ciconte and the wildcard entry, Payton Westcott, collided, leaving their cars stranded on the track.
This incident occurred during a Safety Car period, which bunched up the field, allowing Chambers to take control of the restart. Despite her flawless execution, Alba Larsen was edged out by Pin and Weug, resulting in her demotion to fifth place.
Chambers, a Ferrari driver, demonstrated her prowess by boldly passing her title rival, Weug, on the outside, improving to third place. She then set her sights on Red Bull Racing's Alisha Palmowski, momentarily overtaking Weug but ultimately falling back to second place.
This intense battle between Chambers and Palmowski provided an opportunity for Pin and Larsen to engage in a close contest. Tommy Hilfiger driver Pin was ultimately bested by Larsen, who secured fourth position in the closing laps. McLaren's Ella Lloyd finished in sixth place, ahead of Nina Gademan and Tina Hausmann, while Rafaela Ferreira and Aurelia Nobels secured the final points of the season.
